And with that, the 2026 winter working parties have come to an end...

We've done it! After weeks of sawing, drilling, cutting, making, sewing, cleaning and painting, the winter work parties have come to an end.

It's been a brilliant few weeks with the first few focussed on cutting down all the overgrowth and many hours re-rigging a problematic halyard (now all working again). We then moved on to sawing launching systems, hanging new curtains (fancy), refreshing the club, resetting cardinals, sorting the club boats berths and generally making merry. That's not even everything! The tie downs are sorted, the islands have had some TLC, the freezers have been defrosted and we've homed a new club Laser.

There's been plentiful laughter, abundant good company and the occasional bought of frustration (that halyard anyone...?).

Every week has seen jacket potatoes and cake to keep us happy and full, with major thanks to the ultimate galley squad. We might be biased, but our members are the best!

Today we finished with a snag check of the club boats making sure they're all ready for their big day with the start of the season on Saturday.
