Training Course Cancellation & Payment Policy

Ely Sailing Club reserves the right to cancel any course for any reason, including, but not limited to : adverse weather conditions, equipment failure, instructor sickness, low booking numbers. Where a cancellation is necessary a full refund will be made or an alternative course offered. No additional liability for compensation beyond the course cost paid nor expenses of any kind will be accepted by Ely Sailing Club. Ely Sailing Club will endeavour to prevent cancellations and, where required, inform the affected students at the earliest opportunity via the email provided on booking.

If a student cancels their booked place on a course up to 3 weeks (21 full days) before the course starting date, a full refund will be given. If a student cancels their booked place on a course less than 3 weeks before the course starting date no refund will be given regardless of circumstances, unless the place is filled by another student. Once the course has begun, if a student cannot complete the full course for any reason, no refund or partial refund will be given - it will be at the discretion of the Senior Instructors and Training Principal if any form of additional training to complete the course shall be offered and there is not guarantee of this nor the format it would take and any additional training if it were to be offered may incur an additional charge.

At the point of booking, participants will become sailing members of Ely Sailing Club for the remainder of the current season (until 31st December) and shall be bound by the rules, bylaws and expectations of club membership, further details of which are on the 'Club Documents' page on the website. Please do not book a course if you (or the person for whom you are booking) are not prepared to accept the rules, bylaws and expectations as per the documents. Should a course be cancelled by either party (In accordance with the above), membership and all associated priveleges are forfeited immediatley.

By making a payment for a course you confirm that you are willing to accept the above booking terms and conditions.

Payment is due in full at the time of booking and can be made via the website host which facilitates PayPal, credit & debit card payments. Bank transfer or cheque payments can be arranged, if required, upon arrangement with the treasurer. Should payment not be received after 2 reminders are provided via email, your place on the course may be forfeited with no compensation.
