Hunter's Yard Trip

Our annual expedition to the Broads.

We have 2 Rebel Class (Valiant & Lucky Rebel) and 2 Whiteboats (Tortoiseshell & Sundew) hired out and there's sure to be laughter, sailing, drinks, lunch and hopefully sun.

Hunter's Yard is a traditional boatyard in Norfolk with a fleet of beautiful 1930s wooden keelboats.

For the last 3 years, we have run trips to the yard to enjoy some keelboat sailing in good company.

Experience isn't a barrier to coming, each boat will have one experienced club member as 'skipper' and up to 5 people in total on.

Where we sail depends on tides and wind but it'll be a gentle sail through stunning scenery of Norfolk, a stop for lunch and a sail back, maybe with an additional ice cream break if the conditions and time allow.

All members welcome - those 17 & under need to have a responsible adult with them.

A beautiful day sailing traditional 1930s boats from Hunter’s Yard on the Norfolk Broads. This trip has been a hit the past 3 years and really is a fantastic experience. There’ll be a mix of members and at least one very competent helm on each boat so no need to panic if you’ve not sailed on the broads before or aren’t sure of your confidence – we will have 4 boats, all sailing in company on whatever route the tides and winds deem suitable.

Please bring a packed lunch and be prepared to arrange transport to and from Hunter’s Yard. Timings will be decided in advance of the day.

If the weather is inclement and either Hunter’s Yard or ESC deem the trip unsafe, it will be rescheduled giving as much notice as possible.
