Commodore's Waffle

The upcoming spring bank holiday on Monday 29th May will bring the usual long traffic queues on the counties roads. This means the normal mix of upset children, overheated adults and a wasted day off. But those fantastic people on the club committee have come up with the perfect solution. We invite you to come along to the members family fun day we are running at the club, we will even allow you to bring children along as well. We will be running fun, water-based games, and other shore-based fun. For food, we are having the club BBQ available all day, for you to cook your own. This is so that all the usual kitchen staff can join in the fun rather than flipping burgers and washing up all day. We will also broadcast the radio 2 road reports regularly, so that you know what you are missing.

For the evening, from about 7pm onwards, we will be running a fun casino event with Black Jack and Roulette. The only charge will be that those who want to take part will buy poker chips, and the 5 people with the most chips left at 10 O'clock will qualify for a final. The top two will win prizes. This evening event will be great educational event for any children, they will learn just how easy it is for themselves, or their parents, to drink and gamble away any inheritance. Such useful information is normally only available from a long and expensive university education.

The club will be providing nibbles during the evening, and of course the bar will be open. For anyone wanting something more substantial, the clubs kitchen facilities are available, and the club’s location is well known to the local Chinese and Indian take aways. We only ask that you wash your plates up afterwards.

I will be looking forward to see you on the day.
