Laying Up Supper 2016

Ely Sailing Club’s annual Laying Up Supper was held on Saturday 12th November welcoming over 52 members to join in the celebrations. The evening started with the award presentation, with 18 different prize winners being presented with a certificate and their trophies. Young sailor Kirk Stamford received the most prizes on the evening with eight trophies, closely followed by his brother Chandler Stamford, and Simon Leeks, both with six trophies each. After the trophy presentations, members enjoyed a supper with a hog roast and salads on offer.

A special award was given to Hugh and Robbie Marshall who were unfortunately unable to attend on the evening. The Ernie Wootton Trophy for Clubmanship was awarded after the club felt recognition was needed for all the services they provide to the club, including grounds maintenance and restocking the galley, among the many other tasks they do.
