Commodore's Communiqué

Hello Members

Another busy month with very successful Open Day and Evening with over 70 new comers experiencing sailing at Ely. Thank you to all those who helped with these events. It resulted in the Cadet Camp being filled, new members and a boost to our profile locally.

The junior trophy was won by Jack Knight and Simon Leeks won the Whitsun Trophy our congratulations go to them.

We have also entertained Stretham Scouts and successfully past the 2015 RYA Training Centre Inspection. Ladies of the Lake has just finished with three new Lady members improving their sailing skills. There have also been three successful two day courses.

Friendly Fridays have also started but please remember that cadet members need to have their own adult supervision as other other club members should not be put in the position of supervising lone juniors.

St Marys School are coming for Stage 1 training during the first three weeks of June. We also have the Cattlemen of Pymoor using the clubhouse on the 9th .

Coming up in June are the Partners Race the Ladies Plate and the Topper and Enterprise Open meetings. So if you would like to compete with your other half in the boat, are female, small or have an Enterprise then there is an opportunity coming up for you to race during June.

It would be great to see all the past winners of the Ladies Plate gathering together for a Cream Tea on 13th June. If you are a Lady member of the Club then this is the day for you too. Come and have tea with us. It is prepared by the men folk.

See you soon

With kindest regards

Your Commodore Alayne
