Commodore's Communique

Great start to the season. The number of members taking part in Easter Egg and Camweld Trophies are up on last year. Congratulations go to Gary Ungless and John Wells who won the Bank Holiday Trophies respectfully.

The cadets have been in action too with Jack Knight, Molly Lee, Kirk Stamford and Laura and Matthew Campbell taking part in the first inter club event held at Cam Sailing Club. For the full race report see the Ely Sailing Club Facebook page.

The training team have been busy creating new Dinghy Instructors and the first Adult Training course took place last Saturday.

This Saturday 2nd May is our Open Day so come along bring your friends, family and neighbours to have ago. We will have a new H12 dinghy to have a ride in aswell as joyrides in the Club Boats for anyone wanting to Push the Boat out from 1pm to 4pm.

We need some help for this event so calling all those of you who would be happy to help promote our Club and encourage some new members to join please come and help. There is a Bouncy Castle to entertain the youngsters. BBQ food and Bar for the adults.

If you are around on the Bank Holiday Monday 5th we are having interfleet team racing in toppers.

On Thursday 7th May there will be an Open evening for those who could not make the Saturday or if you fancy another go in the New H12.

Or if you would like a go controlling a model yacht there will also be some available on both Saturday 2nd and Thursday 7th May.

There are still places on the Cadet Camp and Sailing and Power boating course place available so come and sign up and take the next step in your sailing experience.

We are running Ladies of the Lake starting from 9.30am to 1pm on Wednesdays in May starting on the 3rd. The cost is just £50 for all 4 sessions.
