Commodore's Waffle

Welcome to the latest edition of ‘Commodores Waffle’. I hope your all well and making the most of the warmer weather as the summer quickly draws to an end.

This is not yet to say it is the end of our season here at Ely Sailing Club. Although the Thursday night sessions have finished due to lack of light we are still up and running with Saturday afternoons for social sailing and Sunday afternoons for racing. – Hope to see you there!

We will be holding our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in November and now is the time that we take nominations for new committee members. We meet once a month and use the meetings to receive updates from other committee members and discuss the developments of the club. If you would be interested in helping run and develop you club please e-mail me at commodore.elysc@gmail.com or come and have a chat to me when you see me at the club. As well as committee members, this year we will also be electing a new Social Sailing Secretary. After many years Andrew Moore has decided to stand down, I wish to publicly thank Andrew for all his work championing Social Sailing at ESC. If Social Sailing is your thing and you would like to be the voice of social sailing, this role would be perfect for you. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
