Commodore's Waffle

Dear All,

Welcome to the 2014 Ely Sailing Club sailing season!!!

We’ve had a really busy winter working party, with the club, grounds and kit all having a spruce up. Sailing, at long last, starts on Sunday 30th April and not forgetting our Spring Bowling Social on Saturday. I hope to see you all at some point then! If you have not yet got your tickets, and want to come, please get in contact with Jill on 01353 662661.

We will be holding a rules evening and an assistant/dinghy instructors course in the near future, so please keep an eye on all your e-mails for the coming dates. Apologies for the ambiguity regarding dates, the committee is continuing to run at full tilt with lots going on over the winter behind the scenes, so please bear with us. As soon as the dates become available, I’ll send out e-mails to everyone. If you are interested in doing an assistant or dinghy instructors course then please let me know by e-mail at commodore.elysc@gmail.com.

For those of you who have not already, please check out our new website - its impressive, to say the least. A big thank you to Chandler Stamford for all his hard work and research. www.elysailingclub.org

This season, the Club's training centre is continuing to deliver courses. Please visit the website for a full list of what we have on. I’d like to especially bring your attention to three special courses:

  • Ladies Of The Lake Course - May 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th (12:30pm - 3pm. See attached poster)

  • Children's Set Sail - May 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th (4pm - 6pm. See attached poster)

  • Children’s Half Term Cadet Camp - NEW FOR 2014 - Mon 26th May to Wed 28th May (Two nights camping and three days of activities on and off the water) Working towards RYA qualifications. (See attached poster)

If any are of interest, please contact Clare Christan on 01353 610770 or at training.elysc@gmail.com. If you not a child, not a lady(!), or just can’t do the dates, please tell you friends!

Hope to see you all soon
