Welcome back to the new season! After a long winter break, I hope that you are all ready to start sailing again. We have a fuller calendar, with more dates for Friday social sailing this year. The club welcomed 7 teams to the annual team racing event aimed to put your knowledge of the rules to the test. The day is filled with good spirit, but also a desire to stitch up your competitors by overusing the rules! Despite the rain from 1pm to 2pm, the racing continued allowing a total of 36 mini races to be held throughout the afternoon. Hello Members Now it is warm there is no excuse not to come down to the Club if not to sail then just to enjoy the surroundings with a long cool drink. Hello Members Another busy month with very successful Open Day and Evening with over 70 new comers experiencing sailing at Ely. Thank you to all those who helped with these events. It resulted in the Cadet Camp being filled, new members and a boost to our profile locally. The junior trophy was won by Jack Knight and Simon Leeks won the Whitsun Trophy our congratulations go to them. Commodores Waffle back by public demand! It looks like the first day of the new season is going to be a windy one. Racing starts this Sunday 29th March at 1pm. There has already been a lot of activity at the Club this year, the training team have been in full swing with lots of new and old members gaining their First Aid qualification under the tutelage of Principal Steve Board.
